Paul Turner and Karen Staples

Karen was born in Boston and has lived in Argentina and Mexico while growing up. She has had much more than Paul could have ever given her, maids, butlers, cooks, a college education, and all that. Paul was raised in Mission San Jose, California, where his family had well over a hundred years of history. The area is now known as part of Fremont. Paul’s grandfather, when he was young, used to watch Charlie Chaplin, Mae West, W.C. Fields, and others make movies in the area when he rode with his father to the Niles train station to collect the mail, which was distributed at his General Store.

Karen and Paul met in 1987 when he was in the used car business. Paul rode a Honda 750K at the time and later purchased a Magna 1100. Karen has always loved to ride, and they fondly remember a trip to Tahoe for the afternoon from the Bay Area. It was a long cold afternoon/late night, but they still talk about it from time to time. They took many rides and loved the bike.  The arrival of the kids, and a slow economy made it tough, but after a little cutting back in the mid 90's. They purchased the '01 Police Standard in February of '04 from Hall's Harley Davidson in Chico, Ca. Paul had searched for some time and really wanted a Police bike. It's the whole coming out of service thing that he liked, similar to how all this began after Harleys were used in WWII.

They have no words for the people they have met and the experiences they have had since. Paul was happy to finally have a Harley serial number that allowed him access to the National Club!! He immediately commanded the machine’s seat to carry his a-- right down to the local dealer for info on local chapter meetings. Paul signed them up for the Sacramento chapter and they attended every single meeting since. They have met more friends than in any other period of their lives. They have won trophies and assisted in wreck scenes. Being with the club has truly become a meaningful part of their lives. According to Paul, the only thing in life better than the thumping roar of a big twin between your legs and absolutely awesome scenery in front of your eyes is something that he will leave to your imagination.  It also involves something between your legs that brings intense pleasure, but usually does not last as long in any one session.

Paul and Karen are glad to be here and we are glad to have them.  Paul is presently sharing in building our Website. James D’Agistino, Paul and I hope we have put together a site you find useful located under the ‘Hog Chapter’ button of www.gjharley.com. We welcome Paul and Karen as new members.
