Neil Webster and Alexis Whitely

These two characters epitomize the heart of our Western Slope H.O.G Chapter.  I have only known them for a couple of years and in that short time we have become close friends.  Neil and I have become good Amigos and have logged a lot of miles riding Harleys together.  I have ridden on numerous Thursday night rides, weekend rides, impromptu rides too numerous to mention, a ride to Scottsdale to Arizona Bike Week in April of  2005,  as well as a great ride to Puerto Peñasco, Mexico to the “Rocky Point Rally” with Neil.  I consider Neil as one of my closest friends and one with a passion for riding and living the good life.

Neil grew up on the East coast and Alexis grew up on the West coast. They met in Cripple Creek, Colorado where Alexis was working as a dealer in Wild Bill’s casino and Neil came in and worked on the phones.  Since that time they have shared much together including good times and bad.  Alexis has always given much of her time and energy for the collective good of the club. She worked tirelessly as the Ladies of Harley leader last year and contributed much to the good of the club. Despite some health issues and an unfortunate canoeing accident which resulted in an infection, which coupled with diabetes led to her to losing a leg and having a complete knee replacement, she is a positive force and an inspiration to me.  I was whining for a time about my toe and not having great success with a surgery to remove a Morton’s neuroma, but after putting that in perspective I now know that I am indeed fortunate and have ceased the sniveling.

Neil is currently our Lead Road Captain and knowing Neil as I do, I believe that we are very fortunate to have someone with his energy, passion for riding, and compassion for others to be part of our group.  Congratulations Neil and Alexis and thanks for all you do to make our H.O.G chapter the best.
