Leo and Lorie Grap
Leo purchased his blue and silver Electra Glide Classic harley in 2001. During the first three years of riding the only bitch that rode with him was his dog, “Nibbles”. His daughter Tammy, also would ride with him on occasion. It was three years later that Lorie mustered up the courage to go for a short ride to Soda Jacks. She clutched Leo so tightly that he thought she would cause him to break the handgrips off his bike. She was so tensed up that her muscles hurt for weeks. She also never opened her eyes during the ride. When his daughter would ride, she would drop off to sleep. Lorie swore that she would NEVER, EVER fall asleep on the back of the motorcycle. It wasn’t long after that on a trip to Moab that she fell asleep on the winding river road between Cisco and Moab. She also fell asleep on the return trip so she has obviously overcome her fears and is comfortable riding with Leo. Lorie is a fair weather enthusiast and will only ride if the temperature is above 70 degrees. Consequently, Leo and Nibbles can be seen riding together year around.
Lorie was the first woman drag racer in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, just across the border from Illinois and Leo’s first encounter with her was watching her charging around the track driving a souped up 1963 Chevrolet Impala. Leo saw her and fell for her. They just celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary.
