MAY/JUNE Newsletter
Letter from the Director:
It was a dark and dreary night and all
the little bike riders were fast asleep, waiting for a nice sunny day to
hop on their HOGS and RIDE. And ride
they did, all the way to the wienie roast.
Can you believe all the bikes on that ride? (22)
Thanks to everyone for the
support that you have shown the road captains.
Not only on
that ride, but all the rides this year.
I want to welcome all the new members and old members who
found their way back: Doug-Rhonda-William-Greg
F-Greg T-Andy-David-Mindy-Dan-Kalanda-John-Charley-Al-Keith and I hope I didn’t
miss anyone.
The swap meet is on for June 16, 17 and plans are going
strong with our power committee at the helm – Mario-Lexie-Kevin. Watch for the poster to come out because
Mario posed for the picture on his bike.
Please continue to make as many rides as you can, mainly
because I like seeing your smiling faces and there’s a better chance that I
won’t be the ugliest in the group!
Ride and Have Fun!

Karen Staples has volunteered
to be in charge of this year’s toy run. Volunteers needed.
Safety Officer Bill Gert
spoke of group safety practice: 1).When a rider leaves the group; the group
should not crisscross to move up. Only the lane occupied by the departing rider
should move up, thus eliminating dangerous weaving. 2). On 2 lane roads, bikes
should have formations of 6 bikes, allowing about 1 minutes between groups to
allow for car folks. This also decreases
chances of a crash, as the more bikes in a row, the less space to stop in an
emergency. 3) Each rider is responsible for his/her own safety, so make your
own decisions at turns etc.
The meeting was adjourned at
